In 1988 six members of the Lincoln Section of the AJS Matchless Owners Club with a passion for all things British and a keen interest in Classic Trials Bikes from the 50's and 60's staged it's first observed trial on the hillside above the Wolds villages of Scamblesby, enjoyment and friendly competition were the order of the day with some of the sections being 16ft wide! and not quite as technical as todays hazards.Over the next couple of years the clubs popularity grew, with an increase in rider numbers the club hosted six trials per year.

As the club entered the nineties, some riders sought the challenge of different terrain and ventured out of Lincolnshire to ride in events hosted by other classic clubs, especially enjoying the terrain and venues set in Yorkshire by Howard Midgley and his team at Yorkshire Classic Motorcycle Club, who gave advice and encouragement to the founding members to run more trials on a regular basis. Currently the club runs 13 trials per year including the ever popular Christmas Charity Trial which has raised to date £20,000 for the Lincolnshire & Nottinghamshire Air Ambulance Charity Trust. Over £5,000 has been raised for St Andrews Hospice to date.

In 1996 the club was asked to run a round of the Sammy Miller Series until 1999 when Northern rounds were left out of the Championship, as a result of this the British Northern Bike Pre 65 Championship was formed with 5 road based trials purely for British Pre 65 Trials Bikes.
